Introduction OF ELA (ELETTARIA CARDAMOMUM)

It has strong, unique taste, resinous fragrance and extensively soothing aroma. It is used as spice and medicine since centurys in india. Seeds are used in wide range of Ayurveda medicinal formulations it is mostly use as prakshai dravya. In form of Chaturjata which is combination of cardamom, cinnamon, Cinnamon leaves and Mesua ferrea. Chaturjata is useful for anorexia, skin disorders, etc.

DESCRIPTION

A tall herbaceous perennial with branching subterranean root stock and several erect stems upto 3 m high. Leaves 30-90 cm long, subsessile, elliptic or lanceolate with sheathing base.

properties it helps in improving digestion and relieving bad breath
